Lagos Government commissions first Medical Helicopter emergency service in Nigeria

The Lagos State Government on Thursday commissioned the first ever medical helicopter emergency service in Nigeria.

The state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, launched the helicopter pad at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

National Convention: PDP youths kick against Sheriff’s Special Committees

The Youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has kicked against the four special committees set up by the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, ahead of the party’s National Convention billed for May 21, 2016. Sherrif had in a statement named Rivers governor Nyesom Wike as chairman, Gov. Dairus Ishiaku of Taraba as deputy chairman and Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi as secretary. Why Buhari cannot curb corruption in civil service – Stakeholders

Some stakeholders on Tuesday in Abuja said for corruption to be totally eradicated from Nigeria, civil servants must be well paid for services they rendered. The view is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a one-day workshop organised by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), a political association. The communiqué was jointly signed by Chief Peter Ameh, National Chairman, Peoples’ Progressive Alliance; Mr Tosin Adeyanju, Executive Director, Conscience Nigeria, and Mr Charles Nwoji, Deputy Director, Planning, National Orientation Agency.   The stakeholders, who were drawn from various political parties, the media and civil society organisations (CSOs) resolved that corruption existed everywhere but varied from society to society.
