The Foundation for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption, FHRAC, has warned the Department of State Services, DSS against plunging Nigeria into wars. FHRAC National President, Alaowei Cleric Esq handed down the warning in statement following the reported invitation of the founder of Omega Fire Ministry,  Apostle Johnson Suleiman to the DSS office  in Abuja on Monday. Our Constitution forbids placing one religious practice above the other ones.” “The move by the DSS to arrest the man of God just because he expressed his feelings on the marauding invasions of the Fulani Herdsmen against Christians in the country is a clear attempt to murder freedom of speech apparently to engender religious bigotry”, he declared. ‎”Those handlers of Gove

Cabals frustrating our efforts to see Buhari – CAN

Image
The Christian Association of Nigeria, on Sunday, accused some cabals of trying to frustrate every effort being made by its President, Dr. Supo Ayokunle, to see President Muhammadu Buhari. The group faulted the belief in some quarters that it has not been pragmatic enough in responding to issues that concerned Christians in the country. Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the President of the Youth Wing of CAN, Daniel Kadzai, said while the association had been standing up for the defence of Christianity, “the government’s disposition to some of the issues affecting Christians are not encouraging.” According to him, the leadership of CAN “has been denied audience with the President to brainstorm on how best to solve some challenges in the country.” Kadzai stated, “The Ayokunle-led leadership is poised to ensure that all Christians worship without fear or intimidation throughout the country. The man (Ayokunle) just took over the mantle of leadership and he met crisis on the groun

He said the herdsmen are just going to run into the road like herdsmen and begin to cause confusion and while your security men clear them and you come out, they will open fire. “I said okay. After about a week, he called me and said please, if you don’t do that, they might bring them to come around church premises. I said its okay. And I told my people, any Fulani herdsman you see around you, kill h

Image
Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, on Sunday at his Amaechi ward in Enugu South Council Area of Enugu State joined the All Progressives Congress, APC. This is coming nearly one year after he denounced his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. APC is going to the market. I wanted to identify with somebody who is going to the market. I will be wasting my resources to invest in somebody who is already coming back from market; they will not buy me anything. “I will like to identify with potential winners; if that makes me an opportunist, so be it. “I noticed that the APC has all it takes; things are not yet perfect in the party but will join hands together to make it work. “Many people will criticize me: Nnamani, do you abandon the party that made you rise politically? But if you remember my statement on 6th February 2016, I said I was going into sabbatical. But I cannot remain partyless; our constitution does not allow independent candidacy. “So, w

Image

Kashamu in a statement had said that the  Friday’s election, which produced Fayose ‎ as head of the PDP governors’ forum was a huge joke. “It was a misnormer that the governors of an opposition party that is in need of rebranding and repositioning could chose a liability, a loud mouth and an immature politician like Fayose as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. “It is not that his emergence as the Chairman of the Forum means anything to me. But as a committed and loyal party man, it gives me great concern that instead of taking steps that will foster peace and unity, we are doing things that will widen the gap and cause more unity. “Those who chose him s

Church leaders against FRCN Act are thieves – Bakare

Image
The General Overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has described those kicking against the  Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria Act, ‎2011 as money launderers,  who are trying to cover their iniquities. Bakare, who made this known on Sunday during his church service, described opponents of the law as lawless. According to him, by opposing the law, church leaders were trying to prevent the public from knowing about acts of money laundering that they had indulge in by virtue of their positions. Pastor Enoch Adeboye had earlier resigned as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God as result of the new controversial law. But Bakare flayed church leaders for their stance, saying, “I can testify that the law was explained to kingpins in the church, but now you want to get away because you want to cover your iniquity. This was just as last-minute attempts by Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, to convince Jammeh to give up the presidency, failed.
