NPA Boss Hadiza Bala-Usman Drags BreakingTimes To Court For Defamation

Hadiza Bala-Usman, the Managaing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority,  has dragged the editor of BreakingTimes, an online NEWS platform for defamation of character after publishing a false accusation story against the Mrs Hadiza. Prince Henry Nwazuruahu, the owner of BreakingTimes published a story with the headline; “How El-Rufai and Hadiza Usman bribed APC Chieftains with $25,000 each to make him Vice President” on 22nd of March, 2017. Mrs Hadiza who took the case seriously, has however decided to take the matter to the judicial arm of the government by instituting legal action against the NEWS platform. Oba of Lagos, Akiolu, finally state reasons for snubbing Ooni of Ife

Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Thursday evening cleared the air on the video that showed him snubbing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at a public function in Lagos. Oba Akiolu said his gesture was not ‘snub’ as being dubbed but that it was the culturally acclaimed way of greeting a monarch in Lagos. Oba​ ​Akiolu​ ​has received several  knocks ​over the incident. ​ Oba Akiolu spoke through one of the white cap chiefs of Lagos, Lateef Aderibigbe Ajose, who is the Opeluwa Onido of Lagos. Ajose said the Lagos monarch did not ignore Ooni of Ife at the public function as being misconceived by people. He said Oba Akiolu’s response to Oba Ogunwusi was the culturally acclaimed way of greeting a monarch in Lagos. Missing budget: Senator Goje got a Police Reply to Tender Video Evidence

Former Governor of Gombe State and Senator Abdullahi Danjuma Goje received a reply from The Nigeria Police that, they should be held responsible for the alleged ‘missing’ of the 2017 budget. Goje, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, house was recently raided by the Police. In his explanation raised on Wednesday, the Senator said, the Police, in addition to the sum of N18m cash retrieved from over 50 occupants of his residence, also took away his laptop computer and 18 office files, where the 2017 Appropriation Bill was being worked upon. The Police Force PRO, Moshood Jimoh, mentioned when responding to the allegation in a statement issued Wednesday night, described the claim as false and misleading. Babangida Aliyu and Ex Chief of Staff Remanded in prison

The Ex-governor of Niger state, Muazu Babangida Aliyu together with his former Chief of staff, Umar Nasko have been remanded in Minna Prisons. The duo were on Tuesday arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) before a Minna High Court on a six count charge. The EFCC said Aliyu diverted N520million from the state’s Security Account domiciled in Zenith Bank account between January and March 2011. He also allegedly diverted a separate N1.7billion f rom the same account within the same period. Nnamdi Kanu Rejects Bail, Ready to Die with Co-detainees

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has rejected the bail granted to him on Tuesday. A source close to him reported to DAILY POST exclusively that Kanu had vowed to remain in Kuje prisons with his co-accused persons. The Biafra leader and agitator was  granted bail on health condition  by Justice Binta Nyako. ‎However, rejected bail, vow to die with his co-accused persons – Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi. According to the source, who put a call awareness to DAILY POST, ‎”I just finished speaking with Kanu. Senator Isiaka Adeleke has died at the age of 62. The three-term Senator currently represents Osun West Senatorial district having won the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2015. Adeleke died Sunday at Bikets Hospital in Oshogbo, the Osun state capital, after suffering a heart attack according to family sources. Adeleke, the first civilian governor of Osun state, in 2014, decamped from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. to All Progressive Congress, APC. The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Prof. Wale Oladipo, described the death of the former chieftain of the party, and incumbent Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Senator Isiaka Adeleke as a colossal loss to Osun State, and Nigeria at large.
