IPOB blasts Ngige for claiming Buhari loves Ndigbo

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has slammed minister of labour, Chris Ngige over his recent claims that the South-East geopolitical zone has not being expunged from the scheme of things under the current administration. The group accused Ngige of running his mouth just to please his pay master in Abuja. Ngige had while speaking during the annual convention and 2016 graduation ceremony of Skill Acquisition Students of Bina Foundation, Enugu, said contrary to the statement purportedly made by Ohanaeze that Ndigbo were being excluded, the antecedents of  Buhari showed that he loved Ndigbo. Buhari finalizes plan to sell two presidential aircraft

President Muhammadu Buhari has concluded plans to sell two presidential aircraft – a Falcon 7x executive jet and Hawker 4000. In October this year, the presidency confirmed that the sale of two jets had been approved by Buhari(http://dailypost.ng/2016/10/04/fg-puts-two-presidential-jets-sale/) and adverts were placed in newspapers for interested buyers. A top Presidency source told PUNCH on Monday that the process of selling the aircraft, which was handled by the Office of the National Security Adviser, had been concluded. He said: “The bids were opened in the presence of all interested parties about two weeks ago. “At the end of the exercise, all those who participated commended the process which they described as very transparent.” He, however, refused to disclose the identities of the preferred bidders and the amount the Federal Government would realize from the sales. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang has explained that the federal government will go ahead with the $29.9billion borrowing plans despite Senate’s rejection. Giving clarification on Senate’s stance, Ita Enang explained that the Senate needed some information that were strategic to the borrowing plans which the budget office was already working on it. What is happening is that there are strategic information that should be made available to them before considering it and the DG, Budget was already working on it”, he noted. Enang was optimistic that the Senate would approve the loans as soon as all necessary information were made available. He added that the Senate understands that economic recession confronting the nation deserves sincere approach, while insisting that the proposed external borrowing of the President would properly fund the budget in the interest of National development.

MMM founder, Mavrodi writes FG

MMM Founder, Sergey Mavrodi has allegedly written an open letter to the Federal Government of Nigeria explaining the benefits of the scheme. The letter was displayed on the page of all participants of the Scheme. Recall the the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had warned Nigerians against participating in the scheme which it described as a “Ponzi”. The House of Representatives in October also ordered an investigation into the operation of the scheme. According to the letter, Mr Mavrodi implored the government to look at the benefits of the scheme rather than be against it without knowing how it was helping Nigerians. He insisted that if the government was really interested in the welfare of the Nigerian participant, then the scheme should be left alone arguing that MMM was helping the over 3 million Nigerian participants. Aisha Buhari warns Nigerians to stop sending gifts to her

Wife of Nigerian President, Aisha Buhari, has claimed that she has not received any gift from anyone since her husband assumed office as the number one citizen of the country, warning those who would want to gift her this season to bury the idea. Mrs. Buhari made this disclosure at the unveiling of a new campaign against graft tagged, “Women Against Corruption” in Abuja, on Wednesday. According to her, she did not also intend to collect gifts as the wife of the president even in the future. She said, “People have been trying to bring some gift items to me but I have not been collecting them. Right from when I was campaigning with the Wife of the Vice President for our husbands, we did not take a dime from anyone and we have continued like that till today. “I have never collected any gift and I am not ready to do so even in the future,” she said, and received thunderous applause from the audience made up of top government officials, Nigerians women and businessmen.

Former minister of aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Femi Fani-Kayode has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, against rigging Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state. Addressing newsmen after declaring open the 2016/2017 bid for crude oil grades, Baru said the nation’s crude is not struggling or stranded but remains a hot cake in the oil market. “Nigerian crude has continued to earn premiums and it is hot cake all over for refiners because of the light nature of the crude. “It induces very high yields on the valuable products that you produce from crude oil. Senate passes Nigerian Peace Corps Bill

The Senate on Thursday passed the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill into law, thereby giving approval for the establishment of the Nigerian Peace Corps as an agency under the Ministry of Interior. Presenting the report of the Committee on Interior on the floor of the Senate, the committee chairman, Senator Bayero Nafada urged the Senate to support the passage of the Bill, saying “the organisation will be of great benefit to the Nigerian youths”. “In response to increasing complexity of the factors responsible for insecurity and the method by which peace and security is being undermined in Nigeria, there is need to develop comprehensive, multi-sectoral, multi stakeholders and inclusive approaches in order to stem these threats,” he said. The Supreme Court  on Thursday  affirmed Eyitayo Jegede as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in  this Saturday’s  governorship election in Ondo state. A five-man panel led by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen struck out all appeals challenging the decision of the Appeal Court which ordered the  reinstatement of Jegede as the PDP candidate in the Ondo election.   The Onnoghen – led panel said all the issues raised by factional Chairman of the PDP in Ondo State, Biyi Poroye, against Jegede had been overtaken by yesterday’s ruling of the Court of Appeal. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has lambasted the North and Western Nigeria for being silent over the alleged illegal detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Recall that Kanu has been in detention since he was  arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS ,  last year. In a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, the pro-Biafra group frowned at Yoruba and the Hausa people for not speaking against the injustice meted out to Kanu. Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, a staunch loyalist of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has refuted the claim by the Plateau State Governor,  Solomon Lalong, that the former governor of Lagos is sick. Lalong said it was the reason that stopped Tinubu from attending last Saturday’s Ondo State APC governorship rally. In press release on Tuesday, Afikuyomi said Lamont’s claim was false. Afikuyomi, who claimed that he travelled to the United States of America with Tinubu to witness the recent US elections, said that the former governor “Is in a remarkable state of mental and physical wellness.” He said, “It is therefore absolutely incorrect and most embarrassing for anyone to attempt to invent such a laughable reason for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s absence at the rally.
